I’ll never return to Elche – Boakye Yiadom

Ghana striker Richmond Boakye Yiadom has sworn never to return to Elche due to the unfair treatment meted out to him him during his loan stint with the club.

The 22-year-old who is co-owned by Juventus and Genoa had limited first team opportunities during his one-year loan stint with the Spanish club.

Boakye Yiadom often came off the bench to score crucial goals for the side. His loan deal with Elche was however not extended when it expired at the end of the 2013/14 season.

But the striker who is currently on loan at Atalanta says he will reject any opportunity to return to Elche. “I was not treated fairly at all during my time at Elche,” Boakye Yiadon said in an interview.

“I don’t know maybe the coach wasn’t impressed with my looks but I am a fine boy too. “They didn’t give me enough opportunities and perhaps it is the reason I didn’t get picked for the [2014] World Cup.

“Why would I therefore want to return to such a club? It will never happen.” Boakye Yiadom is recorded to have played 31 games for Elche – often coming on as a substitute – and scored 6 goals
