Coach of Hearts of Oak, Yaw Preko, has revealed his desire to continue as a substantive coach if the job is handed to him at the end of the season.
Preko was appointed to lead the Phobians until the end of the 2015/16 league season following the demotion of coach Traguil from the senior side to the junior team.
“Of course, if I am given the job of substantive head coach of Hearts of Oak I will take it. Who wouldn’t? It’s a club with great tradition and followership, but it all lies with the board of the club to make a decision,” he told Class Sports.
He thanked fans of the club for throwing their weight behind him ever since he took charge of the side to oversee the club’s three remaining games in the league.
Preko urged the fans to keep the support until the campaign was over in order to at least secure a third place on the league log ahead of their sworn rivals, Kumasi Asante Kotoko.
“The fans have given me 100 per cent support since I took over as coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, and I can’t complain. They have been calling me and wishing me all the best about the job. I appreciate that very much and want to thank them for all that they have done for me as coach of the team so far,” he stated.
