I’m among Africa’s best - Nyantakyi

Lawyer Kwesi Nyantakyi has rubbished calls for him to step down as Ghana Football Association (GFA) president, stressing that he is among the best football managers in Africa now.

He made the statement in response to calls from ex-Ghana defender, Samuel Osei Kuffuor, for him to step down because he lacks ideas to manage Ghana football.

The former Bayern Munich player reportedly said after qualifying Ghana to three World Cups, Mr. Nyantakyi should leave the GFA seat.

Mr. Nyantakyi, in a response played on Angel fm, stressed that he is one of the best brains on the continent, and as such would continue managing the affairs of the GFA.

He said Osei Kuffuor does not have the competence to tell him (Nyantakyi) to exit the GFA throne.

According to him, Kuffuor played football to the highest level but (Kuffuor) has not managed football at the highest level before.

Mr. Nyantakyi said Kuffuor could make criticisms about football tactics on the field but not when it comes to football management.

He urged the former defender to carefully think before he speaks, reiterating that he (Nyantakyi) is among the best football managers Africa can boast of now.
