Ghana's all time leading scorer Asamoah Gyan is set to retire from international football after revealing AFCON 2019 was his last tournament with the Black Stars.

Gyan has represented Ghana at several international tournaments including three FIFA World Cups and seven Nations Cup.

The 33-year old is considering call time off his international career after the Black Stars shocking defeat to Tunisia ended the West African nation's adventure in Egypt.

“I could call this tournament, my last having represented Ghana at this level for seven times," Gyan told GNA Sports.

“Though i have not yet taken a concrete decision yet, I am still considering it, because we have young ones in the team that need to be given the chance to blossom in the national colours,” he added.

Gyan nearly missed AFCON 2019 after retiring from the national team following the captaincy of the team only to rescind the decision after 41 hours.
