Black Stars midfielder Ibrahim Sulemana has expressed his excitement about returning to Atalanta Bergamo, where he began his European career.

The club announced his signing on Thursday, July 17, 2024, but did not disclose the duration of his contract with them after transferring from Cagliari.

Following the announcement by the Europa League champions, the 21-year-old took to social media to share his joy about the move.

“[I am] excited to be back home Atalanta BC where my European journey started five years ago,” he wrote on social media. “I can’t wait to give my all on the field to the people of Bergamo.”

Sulemana was one of Cagliari's standout players in his debut season with the club after joining from Hellas Verona following their promotion to Serie A.

The 21-year-old played in 21 Serie A matches for Cagliari, scoring two goals during the 2023/24 season under coach Claudio Ranieri.

His impressive performances for Cagliari earned him his first call-up to the Black Stars for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic in June.
