President of the Ghana Football Association, Kwesi Nyantakyi says attempts by his detractors to tag him as arrogant are laughable.

Nyantakyi who was recently re-elected as the GFA boss for another four year term has come under severe criticism during his ten year tenure in power, with many saying his longevity at the helm has made him power drunk and arrogant.

According to critics, Nyantakyi has become a dictator, making it impossible for anyone to challenge his ideas during Executive Committee meetings.

But speaking on Accra based Asempa FM, President Nyantakyi says it is impossible for him to stifle anybody, adding that he runs an open door policy at the Ghana Football Association.

“During meetings people are allowed to freely make contribution. The GFA is one of the most democratic organizations in Ghana. There is freedom of speech and freedom of Association.

I am not an Executive President, so power resides in the Executive Committee not in the President. I have one vote as any member of the Executive Committee.

“ I am a village boy, by God’s grace I have risen up the ladder in my career and I would be the last person to be arrogant. I can’t stop people from disliking me, but peddling falsehood about me is not acceptable."
