Coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Sergio Tranquil claims he wasn’t satisfied with the one all draw against their bitter rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko in their ‘Super Clash’ encounter in the Ghana Premier League (GPL) played on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
The Portuguese believes his Hearts of Oak side was the better on the day and deserved to win all three points.
Kwame Boateng fired Kotoko ahead in the first-half before Patrick Razak equalized for the Phobians in the second half in game that was keenly contested to go with the hype that preceded it.
In a post match interview, Sergio said; “It was a good and wonderful game between the two strongest sides in Ghana, we did enough to win the game considering the numerous chances were created, I’m not satisfied because I didn’t win all the three points, but playing against Kotoko and earning a draw is good, but I think we deserved all three points.”
Coach Sergio also elaborated on the overall play and performance of his team in the second half which was an improvement after Kotoko had dominated much of the first half.
Hearts are still on top of the GPL standings three points ahead of Wa All Stars who have a game in hand but, most importantly, the Phobians maintained the five points gap between them and Kotoko who are fifth on the table.
The Phobians will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they face AshantiGold in a Match-Day 22 encounter of the GPL at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday, 27 July 2016.
