I’m not under pressure to shine at Kotoko – Rahim Ayew

Kotoko midfielder Rahim Ayew insists he’s not under pressure to excel at the club.

The 25-year-old joined the Porcupine Warriors on a one-year deal during the second transfer window.

The first son of Ghana legend Abedi Pele has been heavily involved in their recent friendly matches as coach Mas -Ud Dramani put the pieces together ahead of the CAF Champions League and the resumption of the Ghanaian top-tier.

The former Lierse SK player says he is not cracking under expectation and enjoying his time at the club.

He told Radio XYZ: “If a Coach does not have a plan, first of all he wouldn’t have brought me in here”.

“The Coach knows why he brought me and he knows my work rate as well and that makes me feel ok.

“I know that breaking into the team will not be easy but each day and each time I have to work hard at training.

“I am also on a special training regime just to get to my best.

“Everything is working out perfectly for now and I am sure that as soon as I break into the team all will be well.

“I am not under pressure. I don’t feel special in this team, I have been received cordially by my new team mates and things are going well.”

“You shouldn’t also forget that once the season returns we will play in the League, the FA Cup and the CAF Champions League and definitely I will get a lot of playing time.”
