Popular Ghanaian rapper, Solomon Adu Antwi, known by the stage name, Yaa Pono, has indicated his readiness to help promote and make the football appealing to the people.

The "Amen" hitmaker insists the crazy interest with which Ghanaian celebrities follow their favorite various European clubs is as a result of the attractiveness and level of appeal it comes with.

Speaking in an interview with Saddick Adams Obama on Atinka Total Sports show, the Uptown Energy CEO said in as much as there are several well-meaning Ghanaians ready to offer support and ideas for the promotion of the local game, the ultimate direction of the league rest with the Ghana Football Association.

Pono, who confessed being an Accra Hearts of Oak fan, revealed he had not watched any Hearts of Oak match in a long while.

"I support Chelsea in Europe for the reason that I can watch their games and see the appeal but that's not the case when it comes to Ghana", he said.

"Much effort must be put in place by GFA if we want to be at level with the European standard".

"But I'm ready to help in any way that I can be valuable to the system. Even if it comes to recording a whole album to promote the league, I'm ready to collaborate with my other colleague artistes to do that free".

"We must all promote and watch our local football so as to generate the needed interest", he added.

In 2016, the Ghana Football Association president, Kwesi Nyantakyi suggested the FA would collaborate with top musicians to perform at league centers in the country but the move is getting to see the light of day.
