Ghana winger Andre Ayew admits it has hurt Marseille players to have come under fire from some supporters for setbacks this season.
Question marks have been raised by some supporters who have criticised the team for their inconsistent form this term.
Big-spending Paris St-Germain won the French Lique 1 title for the first time in 19 years as Marseille can only secure champions League football next season.
The 23-year-old has revealed the frustration of his colleagues due to the massive criticism of their performance this season.
“We’ve been on the podium all season long, but sometimes we came back home and the fans were against us. Things like that hurt,” Ayew said.
“They weren’t happy, and we didn’t know why, but we have given everything for the club.
We don’t have any regrets. It was a transition year, but we did the most important thing – getting the club back in the Champions League,” he added.
Ayew has hinted he could stay with the club after he grabbed a brace to help the side secure Champions League football next season.
