Kumasi Asante Kotoko skipper Amos Frimpong has denied report he requested to be transferred out of the club before rescinding his decision and asked the club to include in him in the CAF Champions League squad.

According to Edmund Ackah, Amos Frimpong and Daniel Darkwah requested a transfer from the club in order to continue their trade elsewhere, but Amos Frimpong later had a change of mind and asked the club to include him in the squad for Africa.

Reacting to the issue, Amos Frimpong took his official facebook page to clear the air and insisted he never requested for a transfer out of the club but wanted to consult his manager before renewing his contract.

“Dear friends and fans, My attention has been drawn to the news circulating that I, Amos Frimpong , made a “U”-turn to rescind my supposed “request for release”from Asante Kotoko.

” I will like to state for the records and for clarification of doubt that, no where have I written to or spoken to anybody to be released from the club. The facts of the matter is that, I received a call for extension of my contract and since issues of my contracts are the responsibility of my manager, I tried to reach him on phone over the subject.

“I could not get through to him so I left text messages for him.I relayed my difficulty in getting to talk to my manager to management and asked for some time to get to hold discussions with him.I finally got to speak to him after about two hours, and headed straight to the club secretariat to append my signature to the extension.

“It therefore baffles me to read and hear about a supposed “U-turn”. I am therefore urging all to completely disregard any news that says contrary to the hard facts I have given above. By this, I aver my commitment to my contract and to the King’s Club, Asante Kotoko FC of which I have served with Honour, Pride and Dedication.I will continue to do same to the best of my strength and abilities”

God bless us all.
FABULOUS,the Greatest.
