Former Leeds United striker Tony Yeboah says he played fewer number of games in the English Premier League than Jordan Ayew after the latter broke his goal scoring record over the weekend.

Tony Yeboah who played for the English outfit between 1995 and 1997 scored 24 goals and became the first Ghanaian to have scored more goals in the top-flight league.

His record stood until Jordan Ayew equaled after scoring the winner for Crystal Palace against Watford.

Ayew strike against Watford took his tally to 24 to level Tony Yeboah’s record that has stood for about 24-years.

Asked if Jordan should not be compared to him after breaking his record, he said, “If you compare my games to Jordan it tells you I had fewer games. I played 47 matches scoring 24 goals in two and half years for Leeds United”

“Premiership is not a small league but Jordan scoring 24 goals means that the future is bright for him despite playing more matches than me. Looking at his age, he can add more goals if he continues to play in the premier league”

“But for now, if you compare my statistics with him, you can see some sort of differences between us” he told Kumasi based Angel FM.
