Ex Ghana forward Yaw Preko is hopeful of success at Accra Hearts of Oak after signing a three-year contract to become the new assistant coach of the club.

The 41-year-old signed the contract on Thursday to become deputy to the newly appointed head coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi.

Preko who played for the Phobians in 1991 makes his debut club coaching job with his former club.

The Ghana U20 assistant coach has promised to put up his best for Hearts as he did as a player.

“I have just signed the contract with Hearts of Oak,” he told Nhyira FM.

“I want to dedicate myself to the club as I did as a player and I hope we eventually achieve success.”

The Phobian job will be Preko’s first major coaching assignment at club level.
