Management Committee member of the Black Stars, Wilfred Osei Palmer has revealed convincing Coach Avram Grant from going back to Europe after the team’s international friendly against South Africa in Durban.
According to Palmer, Grant had planned to leave for holidays at his base in UK after the game against the Bafana Bafana on Tuesday but he acted fast curtail the move.
People in Ghana appear not be happy with the Israeli trainer’s continuous stay in Europe at the expense of scouting players in the local league with an excuse of monitoring Ghanaians based abroad.
“After the game he (Grant) had planned to go back to the UK, but I had to stop him looking at the situation we find ourselves in,” he told Atinka FM.
“You know what has been going on and so it was important for us to meet him. We will be meeting him on Friday to discuss issues going forward.”
The Israeli tactician is expected to begin plans ahead of next month’s World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
