Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah has said he has not spoken on the current Number12 exposé by ace investigative journalist Anas Armeyaw Anas on Ghana Football because he doesn’t want to be misquoted.
He was speaking on GhOne’s Cheers.
His co-panellist Henry Asante Twum said government erred in a lot of ways by moving to dissolve the FA when there is a way they could solve issues.
“As for me, I have kept quiet on the issue because I don’t want the media people to misquote me. I don’t want to be misquoted.” Stephen Appiah said.
Earlier Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan urged politicians to stay away from football.
Football activities is currently on hold in Ghana as part of the fallouts following the premiere of a documentary by Anas Aremeyaw Anas video dubbed ‘Number 12.’
The video had several Football officials implicated on tape for allegedly taking bribes to influence the player selection as well as the changing the outcome of football matches.
The government have taken steps to dissolve the FA by securing a 10-day injunction to stop football-related activities.
With Government’s move, clubs owners have started feeling the heat, and they have been calling on Government to be a little bit soft.
“I have said it and I will say it again; football and politics cannot work,” he said.
“This is all I can say for now but for sure football and politics is a no.”
Government has since started talks with FIFA in ensuring Ghana is not banned from football.
