FIFA U-20 World Cup bronze medalist, Kennedy Ashia, has revealed that he was scouted by the Omdurman-based club through a local Television station.
The former Liberty Professionals midfielder said that he was monitored by his new club Al Hilal through a local Television station whilst was plying his trade in the Ghanaian top-flight.
Ashia, 20, joined Al Hilal on a two-year deal after the expiration of his contract with Liberty Professions.
“The team used to scout on me through a certain Television Channel in Sudan when I was playing in the Ghanaian top-flight with Liberty Professionals,” Ashia said in an interview.
“The said channel also used to telecast my games when I was playing in the U-20 world cup in Turkey. Through this, all the club supporters were already familiar with me and they were excited.
“So, all these were happening before I came to Sudan and that has proved how serious they were as a club in their quest to sign Me.” he noted.
Prior to Ashia’s move to Al Hilal, top Ghanaian clubs including Kumasi Asante Kotoko and AshantiGold FC were engaged in a bidding war for his signature ahead of the upcoming Ghana Premier League season
