I wasn’t expecting more play time this season – Eghan

Ghanaian teenager Shadrach Eghan has confessed he least expected to have a lot of play time this season, adding he is really surprised with his performance at FC Twente.

The 19-year-old offensive midfielder has been a key element in the setup of coach Michael Jansen banging in four goals so far in the Eredivisie this term.

“When I made my debut last season I did not think and expected that I will play so many games this season,” Eghan said. “Reaching this far this season makes me very happy that is why I want to work and prove myself every week.”

He added: “It is not easy as a young player but you have to grab your chance when you get it.”

The teenager who was discovered by Steve McClaren is one of the highest paid teenagers in the Dutch league.
