Asante Kotoko defender Empem Dacosta has expressed his disappointment in leaving the club to join fellow Premiership side Legon Cities in the on-going transfer window.

Dacosta is expected to join the Royals on loan after struggling for a place in the first team of the Porcupine Warriors.

The former Karela United youngster reportedly declined the club's decision to loan him out during the second round of the Ghana Premier League.

However, the 22-year-old has decided to leave and get more playing time at Legon Cities.

He says he has no problem with coach Maxwell Konadu but he was surprised to hear that he has insulted the coach because he has a good relationship with everyone at the club.

Dacosta also assured the fans that he will be back to represent the club in future.

"I have no problem with coach Maxwell Konadu. I remember he called me during one training session and informed me of plans by management to transfer me to Legon Cities FC," he told Kumasi FM.

"I was surprised to hear on radio and on social media that I have insulted the coach. I had been training with Kotoko before the suspension of the league due to COVID-19. I am cool with everyone and go on with my normal duties at the club.

"I’m still a Kotoko player and have been contemplating how I have not been able to achieve my desired aim for the club but it’s normal and part of life."

He added, "Personally I would wish to leave and have enough playing time at Legon Cities but even if I have to leave,I know I’m not leaving on a bad note."

"Kotoko is in my blood and I am a die hard fan.I am grateful to Dr Kwame Kyei and the management for everything. I am reiterating on your medium that even if I have to leave Kotoko, I will be back."
