I will challenge Mayweather - Joshua Clottey

He is coming off a fresh victory over Anthony Mundine that has catapulted him back into the list of top contenders, and Joshua Clottey is keen to ride the momentum by demanding to face the very best boxers at Junior Middleweight.

“I don’t think I will fight Pacquaio again because he won’t come up to Light Middleweight to fight me and I will also not go down to Welterweight. 154 is my best weight, I feel good, confident and in shape as you saw against Mundine,” Clottey told Allsports.com.gh exclusively from his US base.

“Of course every boxer wants to fight Mayweather and I will also love to fight him if he gives me the chance. I am ready for Canelo, Lara, Cotto, all the best guys at 154,” the former IBF Welterweight world champion said.

The unanimous victory over Mundine has shot Clottey up the WBA world ratings with the Ghanaian on the brink of a possible world title shot later this year, but Clottey insists he will not be hibernating for a big fight.

“I will challenge Mayweather, but if he does not give me the chance, there’s nothing I can do. What is important is that I keep on training and get ready for anything,” Clottey said.

“I have to fight regularly to stay in shape, even if it is not a big fight, something small. I look to fight by July then maybe October/November again by which time I believe the world title chance will come,” the Grandmaster told us.
