'I will do well for Aston Villa' – Jordan Ayew

He is the son of a Champions League winner and his older brother is taking the Barclays Premier League by storm.

It would be perfectly understandable if Jordan Ayew felt burdened by the success of his footballing family.

But that certainly isn't the case for former Lorient striker.
Ayew's start to life at Villa may have been low key compared to that of brother Andre at Swansea.

However, patience is a virtue for the 23-year-old.
Ayew netted 12 times in France's Ligue 1 last season and he is confident his first strike in English football is just around the corner.
"Me and the other new boys are still adapting ourselves to the Premier League," said Ayew.

"But given time, I am confident I will do very well for Aston Villa.
"I feel with a lot of new players we are doing well. You need some time to get to know each other.

"Playing in the Premier League is the best thing in the world.
"The intensity of the game here is incredible. That's something I have really noticed."

Unlike a lot of footballing brothers, a competitive rivalry has never really existed between the Ayews - although they were both on target last time Jordan's Lorient faced Andre's Marseille.

They have a close relationship but Jordan insists they rarely talk about football.
"When I speak to my brother on the phone we don't really talk about football," he said.

"We talk about family, life and other things. We were never really that competitive against each other as kids either - we just enjoyed playing football.

"Now we are both playing in the Premier League and it is a dream come true.
"Andre has done very well and I'm very, very proud and happy. It is not easy to come straight in and do well.

"But he has been at Swansea since July 1 so he has had longer to adjust and that makes it a bit easier for him."
