Otuo Acheampong Barima Boadaa popularly known as Sometymer, contesting on the ticket of Asokwa Deportivo for one of the four slots allocated to Division One clubs in the Executive Committee elections of the GFA has stressed his desire to help improve the brand, position, goodwill and image of the Football Association.
“It’s difficult for corporate organization to associate themselves with ‘controversial’ brands. Working hand in hand with the media will improve the image of the GFA.” Sometymer said.
One product of the Association that has suffered greatly is the league, especially division one league. It’s also suffering partly because we have again underestimated the role of the media in this.
Sometymer is the General manager of Kumasi based Sikka Fm 89. 5 after stints with Fox Fm, Hot Fm and Kessben Fm, and holds an Msc in Supply Chain Management from Coventry University -UK.
“I hope to be the true representative of Division One clubs and serve as a link between all clubs and the executive committee. I will also contribute towards exploring all forms of revenue generation be it commercial, match day or broadcasting.”
The renowned broadcast journalist believes that his experience in the sports industry as well as the knowledge acquired in Supply Chain Management will enable him to help the clubs to raise revenue for their day to day activities.
