Black Stars Head Coach Kwesi Appiah has stated clearly that the only thing holding him from inviting Sassuolo forward Kevin Prince Boateng to the Black Stars team is the player’s failure to apologise as was directed by the 2014 Commission of Enquiry.

Boateng, is yet to a call-up into the Black Stars team after the country’s poor display at the 2014 FIFA World Cup which resulted to the formation of the Commission of Enquiry to ascertain alleged corruptible practices leading Ghana to its worst-ever performance at the World Cup.

The former AC Milan attacker has been labelled as disrespectful together with Sulley Muntari and was asked by the Commission of Enquiry to submit an apology to clear themselves on any chance of returning to the Black Stars camp.

It took Sulley Muntari three years(July 2014-2016) to swallow back his words and deeds, but not KP Boateng.

Kelvin Prince Boateng’s stints with the Black Stars have always been deemed by many Ghanaians as opportunistic; from his switch of allegiances from Germany to play for Ghana and series of excuses to miss qualifiers.

That said, the head coach of the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah has hinted the only possible reason that can fetch Kelvin Prince Boateng a return to the Black Stars team.

Speaking to Nhyira Sports on Nhyira FM Coach Kwesi Appiah revealed – “Kelvin Prince Boateng is a Ghanaian and playing well, if you look at our striking department, we cannot always count on Asamoah Gyan, but after 2014 Commission of Inquiry he and Sulley Muntari were asked to apologize and Sulley has done his. I will invite Kelvin-Prince Boateng writes his, I will invite him”.
