Former Black Stars coach, James Kwesi Appiah says he has never lobbied for a national team appointment in his entire coaching career.
The former Black Stars captain who has been replaced by Charles Kwablan Akonnor after exhausting his 2-year contract with the senior national team has been accused severally of lobbying for the Black Stars job through his connections at the seat of government.
After denying these rumors in an interview with GTV Sports Plus, Kwesi Appiah said lobbying for a job or an appointment takes away your freedom to work and operate and that is why he didn't engage in such practices.
“I don’t like to lobby for jobs. When it happens like that you don’t have the freedom and the free hands to work and it affects your decision making."
“You have to be sincere as a person and be tough. I don’t qualify, I don’t and that is how the national team must be done," said James Kwesi Appiah
