Entertainment pundit cum politician, Kwame Obeng Asare, popularly known as A Plus, has attributed the poor performance of Ghana’s sports teams in international competitions to certain negative attitudes among Ghanaians.

He highlighted behaviours such as gossiping (Konkonsa) and jealousy contributed to the Ghanaian contingent's poor showing at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The politician humorously suggested that if gossiping were an Olympic event, Ghana would have won a gold medal.

Speaking on Hitz FM on August 12, 2024, A Plus emphasised the need for a change in character for the nation to develop and excel in various tournaments, rather than focusing on negative attitudes.

"If they put Konkonsa (gossip) in the Olympic Games, Ghana will win gold straight. The jealousy and stupid things are too much," he said.

This statement comes after Team Ghana failed to win a medal or reach the finals in any event they participated in during the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Many members of the public have expressed concerns about the team's performance and called for measures to improve future performances.
