Impilo Ghana FC will on Sunday trek to the Aduagyiri Park to engage local side
Aduagyiri United in a specially arranged Challenge Cup game being played in memory
of the late President of Ghana John Evans Atta Mills.
The game will also serve as preparations for both sides ahead of impending important
assignments later this year.
It promises to be a fiercely contested affair as the two sides cross path for the
very first time in this all important game being played in memory of the late
President Mills who passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.
Aduagyiri United are owned by the former head of the Eastern region Football
Association, A. A. Lawal, and have long established themselves in the regional 2nd
division league.
They are therefore expected to provide very tough opposition for the Impilo Ghana FC
team that is barely six months old and are hoping to compete in the regional league
themselves this season.
On home soil, United will prove very difficult opposition knowing that there is a
cup at stage and with a home fan base to support them.
However, Impilo Ghana FC has faced arguably tougher opposition in the games they
have played so far and would be up for this one on Sunday.
They have already crossed swords with the likes of Accra Hearts of Oak, Danbort FC,
Accra Celtic FC and Madina United among others, and the experienced gained, should
be able to guide them through this one.
The two sides are hoping to field all of their best arsenal for this all important
game, with Impilo Ghana FC hoping to line up the likes of Patrick Mensah, Kwaku
Sika, Bukari Sesegnon, Awudu Razak and Derek Prince Osei among others.
