Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams was outstanding for La Roja of Spain in their 1-0 victory over the Azzurri of Italy in their Group C game at the ongoing Euro 2024 tournament.
Nico, the younger brother of Ghanaian winger Inaki Williams, impressed for Spain with his great crosses and dribbles.
By the end of the game, Nico Williams had achieved a pass rate of 93%, made four key passes, and was directly involved in the goal that propelled Spain to the top of Group C.
On social media, football fans were amazed by the youngster's performance and praised him for his contribution.
Leading the praises was his elder brother, Inaki Williams, who described him as a 'star boy.'
Shortly after the match, Inaki Williams tweeted, "Puro Cine Jnr, Starboy."
Reacting to the game, Nico Williams expressed joy at the victory and commended his teammates for their performance against the defending champions.
Nico also shared that he received a voice message from Inaki Williams, praising him for his performance in the game.
"Key. Yes, the truth is that the coach has given us the key to not doing anything strange. He is very happy. We are all very happy, and well, a priori, people did not see us as favorites. We have to continue working like this, and hey, I already told you that it is the game against Albania, but the round of 16 is not for two days. It's going to be a bit like that," he explained to Cadena SER.
"Yes, as soon as I entered the dressing room. First, my colleagues applauded me, the truth is that I am very happy. And as soon as I picked up my phone, there was a message from him; he sent me a voice message, and the truth is that he told me that I have taken the Williams surname around the world of football."
Other social media users also joined in the praise and commended Nico for his incredible performance.

Spain have the most lethal wide threat at the Euros. Italy were not able to cope with them in wide areas. The electric 1v1 dribbling of Nico Williams balanced by the creative abilities & decision-making of Lamine Yamal. Top. pic.twitter.com/hvQEiZgebE

Nico Williams is for sure one of the best wingers on the market.

Untapped potential would be unlocked in a different system too
But his creativity is the game changer. I love his intelligence of when to beat his man or when to cutback
