Injury Blunted Our Atack - Dossena

By Peter Demeyin

Lagos - The Chief Coach of the Black Stars of Ghana, Dossena Guisseppe has cited injuries to two key players as the reason why he couldn't beat the Super Eagles at the National Stadium last weekend.

Speaking to P.M.Sport last weekend after the match at the Eko Hotel, the Italian declared that the absence of Udinesse striker, Steven Appiah and Olympiakos Peter Ofori Quaye who are Ghana's best strikers at the moment, was responsible for the blunt attack paraded by the Ghanaians. Guisseppe who was in Italy's team when they won the World Cup in 1982, further disclosed that two strikers were invited for the match but turned down the invitation, because of injuries. He commended the two sides for putting up a spirited performance in the match.

He however blamed the Nigerian team for the team's failure to win the match, even though Black Stars, paraded only ten players for the greater part of the match.
