Injury blow for Black Stars as John Boye pulls out of training

Black Stars defender John Boye to miss Ghana’s World Cup double header qualifier against Congo after picking up an injury in the first training session in Kumasi.

Twenty-two players turned up for yesterday’s training at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Director of Communication for the Ghana FA Ibrahim Sanni Daara stated in a press release that Boye has been receiving treatment after suffering an injury at the training grounds.

“Midway through the training session, John Boye had to pull out because he felt some pain in his thighs. Doctors are still observing him, there are no serious concerns for John Boye so far but the doctors will keep on monitoring him.”

Kwesi Appiah could count on the services of US based Jonathan Mensah for the games against the Red Devils of Congo due to Boye’s injury.
The Black Stars will continue their training today at the Baba Yara Stadium at 4:00 pm.
