Portugal-based Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom arrived in Turkey on early on Wednesday morning to seal a shock big-money transfer deal with top-flight side Antalyaspor, GHANAsoccernet.com can exclusively reveal.

The right-back, who plays for Portuguese side Boavista is travelling to Turkey with his agent Tekin Birinci to seal the bumper transfer deal, Ghana's leading football news website can reveal.

Inkoom is expected to arrive in Antalya later on Wednesday to undergo a medical before signing the deal which will massively increase his wages.

The moves will come as a shock for supporters of his Portuguese club Boavista after signing for the club just six months ago.

He was at the club to revive his career after some few difficult transfer moves but after regaining his form Inkoom has been contacted by Antalyasor to boost their squad.

The Ghanaian international joined Boavista in June as a free agent after leaving American Major Soccer League side DC United.

The former Asante Kotoko defender had been on a lookout for a new club since parting ways with the MLS side and was snapped by the Portuguese outfit on a long-term deal.

Inkoom has an extensive international resume, having played for FC Basel of Switzerland, Ukrainian side Dnipro and lately DC United.

His return to club action for Boavista ignited talk of his return to international football after being frozen out for close to a year.

The experienced right-back was left out of the Black Stars squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations due to club inactivity but now presented with a real chance to stake a return to the team.

He has 46 caps to his name and won the World Youth Championship with Ghana in 2009.
