Inkoom plans return to Ghana league before retirement

Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom has revealed that he has plans of returning to the country to feature for a domestic top flight club before retiring from professional football.

The right-back, who recently completed a move to Houston Dynamo from DC United, enjoyed stints at Ghana Premier League sides Sekondi Hasaacas and Asante Kotoko before landing a foreign contract with Swiss club FC Basel.

“Of course, yes I started from Ghana and I love what Brazilians do. They just go back home and give back the experience they have. Kaka recently he was there (Brazil) before he came to the MLS,” Inkoom told Joy FM.

After failing to make the Black Stars 23-man squad for the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, the 2009 Under-20 World Cup winner has finally resolved to heed to the criticisms of Ghanaian fans and improve his form.

“I am 25 years old and I have more ahead of me. What I need to do now is to concentrate and work hard like what people are saying,” the former Dnipro FC back-liner stated.
