Nigerien import Victorien Adebayor has already begun to light up the Ghana Premier League after scoring a brace as Inter Allies defeated Bechem United 3-0 in the League opener on Saturday.

The WAFU Cup of nations Star said he was happy to score a brace on Saturday after arriving from Niger to join the Tema based side in the transfer window.

Adebayor was the name on every fans lip at the Tema Sports Stadium and after the game, he indicated how happy he was to grab the first two goals of his career in Ghana.

“It is a good feeling to me to start this way in the Ghana Premier League,” he said through a translator.

“I am very happy to score two goals in my first goal for the Club, I am really happy and hope it continues like this for me.”

The Nigerien International was adjudged man of the match following his stellar performance on an opening day. However, after scoring a brace the forward revealed he has a lot under his sleeves as he seeks to improve his performances in the coming games.

“I believe I can do better, I still need to work very hard and try to deliver all the time for the Club but I must say it is a good feeling for me right now.”

Inter Allies will next travel to Obuasi to play Ashantigold and the forward is expected to produce a similar performance against the 2015 champions.

Adebayor's performance earned him praises from Coach Keinechi Yatuhashi, who believes the players have a lot to offer the Ghana Premier League.

“He is young and his job is to score goals like he did. He has a lot of tasks to perform as well,” Yatsuhashi said in his post-match interview.

“There is a lot of room for him to improve because he is a very talented player.”
