Inter Milan manager Luciano Spalletti has lauded new recruit Kwadwo Asamoah for his performance in the side’s loss against Chelsea in the International Champions Cup.

Asamoah excelled once again for the Nerazzuri after being deployed in midfield.

The 29-year-old played full throttle as the Italian giants were pipped 5-4 on penalties after a 1-1 draw after normal time.

It is the Ghanaian's fourth pre-season match for the 2010 European champions since crossing carpets from Juve earlier this month.

"We struggled to deal with their speed and technical quality at the start," Spalletti said.

"They took the lead from our mistake but then we gained confidence and loosened up, playing better in the second half.

"I’m enjoying how the team is willing to put the concept of the football that we want to play into practice.

"Asamoah? He showed good stuff. He’s someone who knows how to manage the ball. He knows when to take three touches or when to play it quickly. His past tells it. He did very well in the middle. I liked him."

Asamoah will be hoping to get another run-out when Inter face French club Lyon in their next pre-season game on Saturday.
