‘Interviewed coaches very knowledgeable’

Ben Koufie says the three European coaches interviewed for the Black Stars coaching job showed in-depth knowledge on the national team more than local coaches.

The member of the Ghana Football Association technical directorate was impressed after sitting on the panel which interviewed Michel Pont, Juan Ignacio Jimenez and Avram Grant last week.

Koufie, a former Ghana coach and Ghana FA chairman, believes the three coaches exhibited an appreciable knowledge on how to get the team to win laurels than that according to him was impressive.

“The interview session was very good because all the coaches expressed themselves very well,” the 82-year-old is quoted as saying.

“They know a lot about our football than some of our coaches at home.

“They can tell you a lot about Ghana football which you’ll marvel, which is an area we must learn and do something.

“They were all good materials, good selection and very good materials.”
