The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has urged President-elect John Dramani Mahama to invest in key areas of football to unearth world-class talents.

Mahama emerged as the winner of Ghana's December 7 elections with a landslide victory, returning to the presidency after having already served a first term.

In a statement congratulating the former president, the GFA acknowledged the unifying power of football in Ghana, emphasizing its role in bringing the nation together.

The GFA reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with President Mahama's government to elevate Ghanaian football to the highest possible standards.

The association underscored the importance of significant investment in key areas such as infrastructure, grassroots development, and talent nurturing as essential for the growth of football.

With President Mahama's support, the GFA is confident of creating a thriving football ecosystem capable of producing world-class players and teams.

"As you are aware, football is the unifying force that binds our nation together, and the GFA is fully committed to working closely with your government to elevate Ghana football to the highest level," a portion of the statement said.

"Achieving this shared vision, however, requires significant investment in key areas that form the foundation of football development.

"The association believes that with the support of your administration, we would continue to create a thriving football ecosystem that produces world-class players and teams capable of bringing glory to Ghana."
