Inzaghi expects fit-again Michael Essien to shine this season

Ac Milan manager Pippo Inzaghi believes a fit-again Michael Essien will explode for the Italian side this season.

The Ghanaian international joined the Rossoneri in January this year and made only seven appearances for the club.

He struggled with injuries but seems to be in top shape ahead of the start of the Seria A this weekend.

Manager Pippo Inzaghi expects to see the qualities of the 31-year-old to crowd his performance this term alongside Niang and Honda.

“It was not his best performance last season. But I never doubted his qualities. And I insist that this year will be a different story.”

“The same holds true for Essien. I expect a lot from both, because I have the impression that in the last season injuries took a part of it.

The Italian side are hoping to tie him down to a long-term deal with his current contract set to expire next year.
