Ismaily SC’s Osei Banahene gets 19 shirt at unveiling ceremony

Ghana attacker Emmanuel Osei Banahene has finally been handed John Antwi’s jersey number 19 after the 26-year-old was unveiled by his new club Ismaily SC on Thursday morning,DailySoccerGhana.com can confirm.

The jersey number 19 had to be assigned to another player after John Antwi left for Al Shabab FC during the January transfer window.

Banahene, who joined Ismaily from Al Orobah on a two-and-a-year deal for $500,000, earlier rejected the jersey number 18 belonging to Ahmed Abozyada and was subsequently offered the jerseys number 23 and 25.

Meanwhile, Theophilus Anobaah, who moved to Ismaily on a three-and-a-half year deal from Medeama SC, was also handed the jersey number 27.

The duo have been training with Ismaily since last week and are preparing to make their debut for Coach Yehia Tarek’s team against Misr El Maqasa at a date yet to be decided by the Egyptian FA.
