Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has revealed how incredible it feels to have reached the final of Euro 2024 with England.
The 19-year-old played for England in their 2-1 victory over the Netherlands in the semifinal of Euro 2024.
Mainoo has been one of the standout performers for coach Gareth Southgate's team during the tournament.
Despite being of Ghanaian descent while living in the UK, Mainoo displayed a level of maturity beyond his years during Wednesday night's semifinal win over the Netherlands. He seemed to be in disbelief at how far he has come.
In an interview with the BBC, the Manchester United player, who only recently started his professional football career, talked about his progress.
"It's an indescribable feeling," he told BBC Radio 5 Live.
"It's happened quickly, but I've just been taking it day by day, game by game, and yes, now we're in the European Championship final.
"We're all buzzing; it's been such a journey to get here. I feel like we've built on our performances that we've had leading to this point, and I feel like the only way is up, time to put ourselves into history."
Kobbie Mainoo is expected to be in the starting lineup for England in the final of Euro 2024 against Spain on Sunday, July 14, 2024.
