It's not easy but I'll do my best - Azumah Nelson's son on emulating his father's legacy

Dalvin Azumah Nelson Junior, the son of legendary Ghanaian boxer Azumah Nelson has vowed to emulate his father's legacy.

Dalvin Azumah, however, admitted that his father's legacy is significant and will require a lot of work, but he is willing to give it a try.

Speaking to the media after a victory over Ghanaian opponent Philip Quansah, Dalvin revealed plans to transition into professional boxing soon.

"I'm looking to turn professional soon and take it to the next level."

When asked about matching his father's illustrious career, he said: "Hopefully, one day I'll get there. It's not easy, but I will do my best."

Dalvin Azumah Nelson Junior, who took a break from the sport, made his return to the ring and took on Philip Quansah in a lightweight amateur fight at the Bukom Boxing Arena on May 4, 2024.

Quansah gave Dalvin a tough duel with his father, Azumah Nelson, observing the bout keenly.

In three rounds, Dalvin managed to box his way to a 2-1 victory, much to the delight of the fans and his father.
