Ghanaian international Antoine Semenyo says he will be motivated to score more goals after scoring on the opening day of the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.

Semenyo was on the scoresheet as AFC Bournemouth visited the City Ground to play Nottingham Forest in the season opener.

Chris Wood scored in the first half as the home side took the lead, but Semenyo scored late in the second half to end the game 1-1.

“It gives me confidence for the next upcoming games," Semenyo told the club's media.

"I think the manager and the assistants have been emphasizing all preseason that I need to make it to the back post, get opportunities, and that happened today. So, I just need to keep making runs to the back post to position myself to score. I need to keep going," he added.

Semenyo, who scored eight goals in 33 appearances for the Cherries, will hope to maintain his impressive performances when they host Newcastle United at the Vitality Stadium next weekend.
