Issah Abdul Rahman has been loaned from Serie B side, Messina Club, to his former Ghanaian side, Obuasi Goldfields. The 21 year-old defender who featured for Ghana’s African Under-20 winning team in 1999, never kicked a ball for Messina during the 2001/2002 soccer season.
Abdul Rahman was loaned to Messina by Serie A club, Udinese. Goldfields, initially wanted the Ghanaian defender for a six-month period but officials of Messina refused and gave them the defender till June 31st.
During his playing days with Udinese, Abdul Rahman failed to make it into the first team, but still remained on the clubs payroll.
Issah’s stint in Europe has not been very impressive and successful considering the potential he showed when he played for the national youth sides.
It is expected that, he would re-launch his career abroad after picking up in the Ghanaian premier league, which is expected to kick off during the second week of March.
