Veteran coach JE Sarpong wants Ghana FA Technical Director Francis Oti Akenteng to resign over his poor work ethics.

Akenteng, who is the longest serving technical chief of the Ghana Football Association has come under mounting scrutiny after the recent failures of three national women national teams.

The Black Queens crashed out of the 2018 Africa Women's Nations Cup on home soil while the country's female U-17 team exited the 2018 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Uruguay at the quarter-final stage.

The Black Princesses have flattered to deceive while the home-based Black Stars lost to Namibia in an international friendly in Windhoek.

The Black Stars only revived their campaign for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon after a 2-0 win at Ethiopia two weeks ago amid crippling lack of technical direction from the association.

Outspoken Ghanaian coach JE Sarpong has laid the blame squarely on the doorstep of the former Ashantigold and Hearts of Oak coach, urging him to quit his role.

"I don't have anything against Oti Akenteng. In fact, we are the best of friends. He is my friend. I am just against his work ethics, he told Asempa FM

"That is what I am against. If the claim is that he is not getting the needed support, he should resign. You can't stay there and blame anybody.

"You can't blame everybody but yourself and expect to stay there as technical director. He should resign or made to go."

Akenteng has been accused of lacking ideas to transform the directorate with accusations of lack of direction and plan.

Several coaches have complained about the professional ethics of the former but have been unable to voice it out until outspoken gaffer JE Sarpong launched a blistering attack on the experienced man.

The veteran, who has been head of the Ghana Football Association technical directorate for more than a decade, appears to reach the tipping point.

It appears the stage is ripe for the long-standing Ghana FA technical director Oti Akenteng to exit the scene after more than a decade.
