Joe Addo: 'We have to learn from our mistakes'

Corporate Affairs and Marketing Manager of Accra Hearts of Oak, Joe Addo, says the team must learn from their mistakes, adding that they will turn the tide around to make the fans happy.

Accra Hearts of Oak were knocked out of the FA Cup in the semi-final stage by Medeama, the Phobians fell to a surprise defeat at the hands of Ebusua Dwarfs in midweek, conceding two early goals in the process and making it impossible to stage a comeback and also lost 1-0 to Aduana in Dormaa last Sunday.

"What is in the past is in the past. But what we have to know is to learn from our past mistakes. This thing has been happening too often that we conceded two goals in the first 15 minutes or 20 minutes; but I think if we are able to stop that, we will be okay in the league," Joe Addo told the club's website.

He continued: "We should try to prevent our opponents from scoring and see if we can pounce on our strengths; so far it has been very difficult and hard to do."

Recent results in the second round of the season have been difficult for the fans to swallow, but the Corporate Affairs and Marketing Manager is hopeful the results will get better.

"Hearts fans are right to be down and disappointed – as I am – but all I can tell them is they should take heart, It is unfortunate what is going on in our team this time around but I am pleading with the fans to calm down and pray for our team, give the support that they can, and hopefully we will turn things around. We are trying very, very hard, and we hope that we turn things around to make our fans happy," the former Black Stars defender added.
