The 20-year-old, who plays for the junior side of the Foxes, was called to train with the senior side ahead of Tuesday night’s game after impressing in training with the big guns since that start of the season.

Dodoo’s chances of playing in the match has been boosted by coach Claudio Ranieri’s confirmation that he plans to change his entire team for the second round trip to Gigg Lane, giving merited opportunities to several members of his talented squad.

Ranieri has fielded the same starting eleven in each of City’s three Barclays Premier League matches so far this season, making the clash with the Shakers a vital opening for those yet to prominently feature.

“Tomorrow I’ll change all 11 players. I have a very good squad. Now this is the right moment for the others to show their strengths.”

The Foxes will be hoping to maintain their unbeaten start to the season, with two wins and a draw from their opening three Premier League fixtures.

Ranieri will include academy product Joe Dodoo in the side but Matty James remains out with a long-term knee injury.

Dodoo was born to Ghanaian parents in the United Kingdom.
