JoeTex set for Germany

Enyimba of Aba?s Ghanaian International, Joetex Frimpong, is set to join a German side after the African Nations Cup, which starts on January 20 in Egypt.

Daily Independent learnt that Bayer Leverkusen and Hansa Rostock are hot on the trail of the player who is presently in the camp of the Ghana Black Stars in Tunisia. The Bundesliga sides are keeping track of the transfer scene and the Ghanaian, who plays for Nigerian champions, Enyimba, is said to be a major target.

Bayer Leverkusen management revealed that they have received details of Frimpong, with coach Michael Skibbe hopeful of adding fresh faces to his squad.

The coach noted that with Frimpong as striker, he would complement the team as they strive to improve on their position on the Bundesliga league table.

Hansa Rostock is also competing for the Enyimba hitman. They are in fact the first club to contact Frimpong before the end of the Globacom Premier League.

He did not give his word that he would join them, but said he wants to make up his mind during the Nations Cup.

He told Daily Independent before leaving for the Black Stars camp that he would consider all options before making a decision on which club to play for.

?It is true that some of these clubs have indicated interest. But I am not going to say anything for now. I want to concentrate on doing well at the Nations Cup.

?Coach Ratomir Dujkovic has warned all clubs not to come to our training camp in Tunisia. He has also warned that I should not go for any trials because since I am a national team player, I should not attempt to go for any trials.

?But sincerely speaking, I will take a decision when the Nations Cup is over. But I am already looking forward to taking my career to Europe,? Frimpong said
