Ghana Premier League side, Dreams FC have thanked Ghana striker John Antwi for sponsoring the surgery of their defender Charles Osei Lucio.
The club announced that their general captain had undergone successful surgery to fix a knee problem.
Lucio had not played for Dreams FC for over a year due to the injury.
The defender has already begun his rehabilitation in Egypt.
It has now emerged that John Antwi who plays for Egyptian club Makkasa SC covered the cost of Lucio’s operation.
Dreams FC in a statement thanked their former player for the gesture while hoping for the swift return of their general captain.
“The Board and Management of Dreams Football Club wish to express its profound appreciation to our former player John Antwi for his immense support to Charles Osei Lucio,” the statement read.
“Lucio has undergone successful surgery to repair a nagging knee injury in Egypt.
“Our former player John Antwi elected himself to bear the exorbitant cost of the operation and his rehabilitation.
“The entire family of Dreams FC is extremely grateful for this gesture from John Antwi as we collective bid to have our general captain return to first team duties in the nearest possible time.”
