Ghanaian football legend John Mensah was a guest at the thanksgiving ceremony for Kate Opoku-Acheampong, the mother-in-law of Ghanaian business mogul Osei Kwame Despite.

A video shared by UTV captures the former Black Stars defender among a list of high-profile personalities at the event held on Sunday, October 13, 2024.

While John Mensah’s relationship with Osei Kwame Despite is not publicly known, it could be that he is a member of the prestigious group, East Legon Executive Fitness Club.

The funeral and Thanksgiving ceremony for Kate Opoku-Acheampong were held in Accra over the weekend.

Among the dignitaries spotted at the event were Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, Evangelist Papa Shee, and leading members of the East Legon Executive Fitness Club.

In his outstanding career, John Mensah played for Olympique Lyon, Rennes, Sunderland, Genoa, among others.

At the international level, John Mensah made 86 appearances for Ghana, scoring 3 goals as a center back.
