Retired Ghana International player, John Paintsil has disclosed that he adopted the ‘one short, one long’ jersey after he dreamt he was wearing that during a football game.
According to Paintsil, in his dream, he saw himself playing very well in the match and realized that the jersey he wore had one short sleeve and one long sleeve.
“I had a dream that I was playing in one long and one short sleeved jersey. That was in France when we were preparing for South Africa 2010 World Cup so I approached the person in charge of the jersey and I told him I want my jersey to have one short sleeve and the other long sleeved. So basically I had a dream and I followed my dream. “– He told Evans Amewugah on SVTV Africa.
Paintsil refused claims that his style was spiritual. According to him, he rarely dreams so if he does, he makes it a point to take it seriously.
John Paintsil was among the Blackstars squad that played in South Africa 2010 for Ghana. He also played in the English Premier League for over a period of 9 years.
