Jomoro District Assembly present jerseys and footballs to school

Half Assini, (W/R) April 2, GNA - The Jomoro District Assembly has presented jerseys and footballs worth 15 million cedis to 10 Junior Secondary schools in the area for performing creditably in last year's Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Mr Stephen Blay of the District Administration presented the items to the schools on behalf of the District Assembly at its Fourth Ordinary meeting of the First Session at Half Assini on Thursday.

Mr. Martin Y. Ackah, the District Chief Executive, before the presentation said the District placed first in last year's BECE and the schools that were being presented with the sports equipment were the best first 10 schools in the examination. He commended the pupils of the schools for studying hard as well as the efforts of the Teachers and the District Education Directorate for assisting in their various ways to achieve the feat and urged them to work assiduously to maintain the same position as in this year's BECE.

The beneficiary schools were Nzimaman, Christian Academy, Psalms, Elubo SDA, Nda Blay, Annor Adjei, New Generation Complex, Nawule Fatima Groto, Bemant and Edobo-Atwebanso JSS.
