Black Stars defender Jonathan Mensah says he draws inspiration from ex-Hearts of Oak defender Dan Quaye as well as former Black Stars captain John Mensah.
Mensah revealed his admiration for the ex- Ghanaian internationals (Dan Quaye and John Mensah) who all represented the country at the World Cup.
The 25-year-old says he looked up to the experienced defenders growing up as a footballer.
“Dan Quaye, even my friends used to call me Dan Quaye. That was the name they called anytime I was playing with them,” he told Hot FM.
“I draw much inspiration from him, and John Mensah as well.
“I learnt so many things from them and I will saw it has helped me in my career a lot.”
Both Dan Quaye represented Ghana at the 2006 Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup in Egypt and Germany respectively.
