Jordaan to Speak at Accra’s African Football Executive Summit 2011

The organizers of the African Football Executive Summit 2011 taking place in Accra, Ghana, from May 26-27, 2011 are delighted to welcome Dr. Danny Jordaan, CEO of the 2010 FIFA World Cup Organizing Committee South Africa, as a speaker to share his experience at football’s highest level.

Dr Jordaan, a South African sports administrator, former lecturer, politician and anti-apartheid activist, played a leading role in the 2010 Fifa World Cup in South Africa. He was the Chief Executive Officer of the tournament’s Organizing Committee. Jordaan has also served on the marketing and television board of FIFA since 1998. He has also worked for FIFA as a General Coordinator for the Youth World Cup, 2001 FIFA Confederations Cup, and the 2002 FIFA World Cup in Korea/Japan.

The Accra summit, the first of its kind in Africa is themed “21st Century Marketing, Branding and Leadership Strategies for the Development of Football on the African Continent". It is expected to be a convergence of high profile global football and business executives, and would serve as an interface between sports administrators, business executives, and representatives from successful football clubs across the world. As a platform for sharing success stories and football management paradigms, the summit is also expected to offer the stimuli for marketing, and leadership strategies for the advancement of football administration and development of the game.

New partners for the summit include Global Media Alliance (GMA), a PAN African International Integrated Media & Entertainment Company founded in South Africa. GMA is now headquartered in Ghana with operational offices in Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, and the United Kingdom.
